How to Apply Hydrostop to Keep Walls Free of Leaks and Seepage

Before the wall painting process, make sure you prepare the following tools and materials.

To get maximum wall painting results using Hydrostop, make sure you follow the application stages as follows

PREPARATION PHASE

1. New surface preparation:

• Let the plaster or surface dry completely for 3-7 days to avoid cracking.
• Wet the plaster or surface with enough water.

2. Preparation of old surfaces (repair):

• Peel off stucco or fragile surfaces and repair or re-plaster them. If the plaster or surface is in good condition, peel off the old paint and remove the plaster.
• Wet the plaster or surface with enough water.

APPLICATION STAGE

1. Application using Roskam:

• Mix Hydrostop and water with a weight ratio of 3:1 or mix 1 bag of Hydrostop (20 kg) with 6.6 liters of water.
• Stir the mixture until smooth, smooth, consistent, and free of lumps.
• The application of the Hydrostop mixture uses roskam like mortar in general with a thickness of 1-2 mm.
• Wet the surface that has been applied with Hydrostop with water 3 times a day for 2 days.
• The surface is ready for use or finishing after it is completely dry (± 3 days).

2. Application using a brush:

• Mix Hydrostop and water with a weight ratio of 2.5:1 or mix 1 bag of Hydrostop (20 kg) with 8 liters of water.
• Stir the mixture until smooth, smooth, consistent, and free of lumps.
• Apply the Hydrostop mixture using a brush 2 times in layers. Let the first layer dry for ± 1 hour, then wet the first layer which has dried to the touch and work on the second layer in a cross section over the first layer.
• Wet the surface that has been applied with Hydrostop with water 3 times a day for 2 days.
• The surface is ready for use or finishing after it is completely dry (± 3 days).
